Covenant Presbyterian School Tragedy

Our hearts go out to the Covenant Presbyterian School community. Students, educators, parents, siblings, neighbors. The senseless and preventable violence that occurred in Nashville on Monday is detestable.

With the focus that is being placed on the perpetrator's identity, it is important to remember that an entire community is not represented by the actions of one.

A person robbed three children and three adults of their futures. Innocent people lost lives. William Kinney, Hallie Scruggs, Evelyn Dieckhaus, Mike Hill, Katherine Koonce, Cynthia Peak. Mass shootings are a steadily rising threat in the United States that needs to be solved.

For those grieving loss, we grieve with you. For those, once again, asking for change, we stand with you. No one should feel unsafe in this country.
